Abstract
Breast enlargement refers to a surgical operation to insert an implant into the breast in order to increase the size of the breast. Breast enlargement surgery is also commonly referred to as breast augmentation, breast implants, or a “boob job.” With very few exceptions, women are the consumers of breast enlargement surgeries. There are many reasons for undergoing breast enlargement surgery; these are connected to sexuality and gender. These reasons include a sense of increased confidence, as a part of sex reassignment surgery, greater economic and occupational mobility in sex work, and to reconstruct the breast post‐mastectomy.
