Abstract
Définie comme une relation de subordination, la notion de « subalterne » a d’abord renvoyé aux subaltern studies avant d’être englobée dans les théories postcoloniales dans les années 1990. La subalternité découle aujourd’hui de deux phénomènes : la colonisation et la mondialisation dont les effets engendrent des groupes subalternes opprimés par une limitation de leur liberté économique et sociale. La liberté de parole est pour eux une arme essentielle afin de dénoncer les servitudes.
