Abstract
Dans L'le de la Demoiselle, Anne Hbert s'inspire de la lgende de Marguerite de Roberval, relate par quatre textes de la Renaissance. L'originalit de la pice d'Anne Hbert tient au fait qu'elle tire parti de l'ensemble de ces rcits. La dramaturge se montre une lectrice attentive de Marguerite de Navarre, pour ce qui est du personnage de la femme forte, d'Andr Thevet, s'agissant des toponymes et du motif de l'exil, et de Franois de Belleforest, pour ce qui est de la cruaut de Roberval et des amours morganatiques de sa pupille. En combinant les lments fournis par tous les textes sa disposition, elle a sign la variante littraire qui est assurment la plus cohrente sur le plan psychologique et la plus fouille d'un point de vue historique.
