Through its respective controlling interests of 70.2% and 56.0% in Great‐West Lifeco Inc. and Investors Group Inc., Co. holds substantial interests in the financial services industry in Canada and the U.S., as well as in Europe. Together with the Frere group of Belgium, Co. also holds a significant interest in Pargesa Holding SA through Parjointco N.V. The Pargesa group has substantial interests in major media, energy, water, waste services and specialty minerals companies based in Europe. Pargesa's major holdings include Bertelsmann AG, TotalFinaElf, Suez and Imerys S.A.
