Abstract
Reformpädagogische Konzepte scheinen heute gleichzeitig in der Defensive wie in der Offensive. Gemessen am aktuellen Mainstream der bildungspolitischen Diskussion, der seit Jahren eindeutig und nachhaltig von PISA, von flächendeckenden Lernstandserhebungen und einheitlichen Bildungsstandards, von Leistungssteigerung und Verkürzung der Schulzeit dominiert wird, befinden sich Ansätze etwa der Montessori- oder der Waldorfpädagogik deutlich im Hintertreffen. Dem stehen das seit Jahren steigende Angebot an Schulen in freier Trägerschaft und die deutliche Zunahme der Schülerzahlen gegenüber; von Mitte der 90er bis Mitte der 2000er Jahre hat die Zahl der Privatschüler um knapp 50 % zugenommen. Neben der Reformpädagogik alter Prägung sind inzwischen auch neue Akteure als Schulträger aufgetaucht: Die Phorms Management AG mit dem erklärten Ziel, mit Bildung Geld zu verdienen (Berlin, München, Frankfurt a. M., Köln). Dem Sudbury- Ansatz, einem bislang in der BRD weitgehend unbekannten Konzept, ist durch die Hamburger Schulgründung unter Beteiligung der deutschen Pop-Ikone Nena einige öffentliche Aufmerksamkeit zuteil geworden. Vielerorts kommen Kinder aus den „Waldkindergärten“ ins schulpflichtige Alter und „aktive Naturschulen“ werden gegründet.
