Abstract
Dans notre discipline de l’éducation et plus largement en sciences humaines, la phénoménologie est abordée avant tout au moyen de la méthode scientifique proposée par Amedeo Giorgi. Si les résultats obtenus ainsi nous éclairent occasionnellement sur le sens d’un phénomène, ils laissent toutefois dans l’ombre le sens même de la subjectivité. C’est que cette méthode amène le chercheur, en concentrant son regard sur le phénomène, à occulter de façon paradoxale la subjectivité de celui qui vit le phénomène, sans parler de sa subjectivité propre. Or, procéder de la sorte a comme conséquence d’amputer les résultats de ce à quoi cette méthode est censée nous mener, de couper la phénoménologie de ses racines et donc de réduire cette dernière à une partie d’elle-même. Cette situation repose, selon nous, sur le parti pris de l’intentionnalité de la conscience ainsi que sur le potentiel méthodologique de la procédure scientifique. Nous aborderons ces questions en revenant aux enjeux de la subjectivité ainsi qu’au sens de la méthode phénoménologique.
