Abstract
ark Richard Tanguay passed away on December 3, 2005, in Edmonton.Had courage and will alone been sufficient to fight the cancerous brain tumor with which he was diagnosed last summer, Mark would have been with us today.Although he remained in characteristic good spirits through chemotherapy and radiation treatment, he lost the battle and Alberta foresters lost a beloved friend and colleague.Mark was born in Vancouver, British Columbia.He spent part of his childhood in Missouri, and his teenage years in St. Thomas, Ontario.He obtained a diploma in Forest Technology from the Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology before coming to Alberta in 1980.By then he already had a deep and abiding passion for forests and the outdoors.His ability to enjoy life, work and
