Au début de l’année 2007, des ouvriers travaillant à un chantier au sud de la ville brandebourgeoise de Wittstock découvrent une fosse remplie de 125 squelettes humains. Il s’avère rapidement que cette fosse conserve les ossements de soldats morts à la bataille de Wittstock du 4 octobre 1636, l’une des plus meurtrières de la guerre de Trente ans.
