Abstract
EDITORIAL ÉDITORIALuring the mid-1990s, a move to form government-private partnerships was initiated to capture the best attributes of both government and private enterprise.The motivation for these partnerships included declining government budgets, increasing demand for providing better public services, and recognition that private enterprise had much to offer in terms of best management practices for day-to-day operations.The Canadian Ecology Centre -Forestry Research Partnership (CEC-FRP) had similar motivation, at least in part.This partnership was begun in 1999 by Tembec Inc., the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, Natural Resources Canada, and is housed at the Canadian Ecology Centre in Mattawa, Ontario.The partners foresaw the value of a collective
