Abstract
Françoise Banat-Berger, qui a été directrice des Archives nationales entre 2014 et 2019, retrace les grandes évolutions vécues par cette grande institution depuis le projet global de transformation qu’ont connu les Archives nationales, autour de la construction du bâtiment de Pierrefitte-sur-Seine. Aujourd’hui le service à compétence nationale des AN joue pleinement son rôle d’institution de recherche scientifique fondé sur son patrimoine archivistique, et son rôle d’institution de médiation culturelle qui permet l’apprentissage de la citoyenneté, notamment aux publics les plus jeunes ou les plus fragiles, avec un souci permanent de placer les usagers au cœur des dispositifs. Les AN sont aujourd’hui solidement ancrées dans le numérique qui est le fil directeur des actions qu’elles mènent, tant en matière de diffusion numérique de son patrimoine, qu’en matière d’archivage numérique avec le déploiement de la plate-forme innovante Adamant. Cette capacité à savoir collecter, conserver et mettre à disposition le patrimoine numérique en cours de constitution, est sa priorité, car elle est consubstantielle à ses missions.
