Abstract The termconsensussignifies, just as in modern English, agreement: something that is “felt together.” In expressing a harmony between different parts of a larger structure,consensusis close toconcordia. The termconsensusis frequently used in political rhetoric; the concept of agreement is also the foundation of the classical law of contract as developed by the Praetor.
