Abstract
Les mutuelles sont actuellement intégrées au système d’Assurance-maladie. Outre le remboursement des soins de santé, l’assurance complémentaire à la sécurité sociale, les mutuelles financent des hôpitaux et des polycliniques. Elles cherchent par ce moyen à casser dans la région les prix des soins de santé et de l’hospitalisation, à briser le monopole des médecins. Par leur importance financière considérable dans le secteur de la santé, les mutuelles peuvent influencer les décisions gouvernementales relatives à l’organisation de la santé. Elles sont associées aux mécanismes de concertation politique et aux négociations sur les tarifs. Les mutuelles favorisent actuellement le développement des soins à domicile pour pallier l’augmentation des coûts des hôpitaux et des polycliniques.
