A realização deste trabalho foi possível graças ao fato do Estado de São Paulo possuir uma grande rede de unidades de conservação bem organizada e distribuída, gerenciada pelo Instituto Florestal; uma robusta estrutura para pesquisa em Botânica em universidades públicas e institutos de pesquisa, com renomados professores e pesquisadores; recursos financeiros para os trabalhos de campo e processamento da informação coletada em projetos temáticos como o Biota/FAPESP e muitas pessoas as quais me apoiaram durante a realização deste trabalho.
