Abstract
This project evaluated the change in self-esteem as identified by the young people who completed the Future Cents Program.The goal of the Future cents program is to teach youth considered "high risk" how to obtain and maintain employment in mainstream society.Twelve participants who had successfully completed the program were interviewed.Of the twelve participants, five graduated from the program in the spring of 2000, three graduated in the spring of 2001, and the remaining four graduated in 2002.At the time of the interviews, two of the participants were under 19 years-of-age and the remainder were 20 to 25 years-of-age.The questions were designed to help the participants consider how the program affected them and their feelings of self-esteem.As part of the interview, they were asked, on a scale of 1 -10, what their self-esteem was before entering the program and what they thought it was after they completed the program.
