Abstract Food (MIC: 4.1 SIC: 5812 NAIC: 722211) McDonald's primarily franchises and operates McDonald's restaurants. Co.'s business is operated in distinct geographic segments: United States; Europe; Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa; Latin America; and Canada. As of Dec 31 2006, Co. also operates certain non‐McDonald's brands, including Boston Market and U.K.‐based Pret A Manger. As of Dec 31 2006, Co. had 31,046 McDonald's restaurants in over 118 countries, with 18,685 operated by franchisees that include 1,091 which are operated by developmental licensees, 4,195 that are operated by affiliates as well as 8,166 that are Company‐operated.
