Abstract
This section focuses on form as the “idea,” the word used by Plato to designate the intelligible models of the real. According to Plato, idea signifies nothing other than “visible form.” One must understand that “sense or truth” does not constitute simply the “intelligibility” of the sensible. At the same time, this intelligibility is simply a more demanding, more intense grasp of sensible propriety itself. The word drawing initially took on the value associated with a sketch or a study. Also included in this section is a “Sketchbook” of quotations on art from Chantelou, Antoine de Laval, Eugène Delacroix, and Wassily Kandinsky.
