Abstract
investigate the eff ects of sea ice loss on polar bear movements, body condition, and reproduction in the Baff in Bay subpopulation. These bears inhabit the ocean region between Baff in Island, Canada and West Greenland. Reduced sea ice levels have polar bears spending more time on land than they did in the 1990s, resulting in thinner bears due to declining body condition and adult females which produce fewer cubs. Pictured is a polar bear (Ursus maritimus) in Baff in Bay in April 2011.
