Abstract
This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: To assess the effectiveness of Managed Alcohol treatment regimes (serving limited quantities of alcohol daily to alcoholics) on their own or as compared to moderate drinking (self controlled drinking), screening and brief intervention using a harm reduction approach and traditional abstinence based interventions ( 12 step programs) and no intervention.
