Abstract
La isla, encerrada en su bruma, desafía al exterior, niega la existencia del mundo que se insinúa en la otra orilla. Cientos de flamencos en decenas de lenguas de tierra desdibujan los límites y dejan su pisada sobre los mapas, dibujos irrelevantes. Esta tierra-agua, espacio sin separación, está dotada de antiguos elementos mágicos, imposibles de nombrar sin el ansia de la fe, que los vuelve reales. Los barcos están habitados de otra presencia, el movimiento de los marineros chilotes es medido, religioso en sentido profundo, remite al misterio. Nadie cantaría en cubierta, el viento y las mareas sólo devuelven lo que beben. De las casas plantadas sobre el mar sube algo más que humo, hay una bruma que convierte a los bueyes, a los pájaros marinos, al labrador que trabaja inconmovible bajo el aguacero, en aires del espíritu, otra cosa....
