Abstract
I started work as a healthcare assistant over 7years ago in the busy out-patient department at The Christie in Withington, Manchester, where I work full time Monday to Friday. Patients attend this hospital for treatment for all types of cancer. Since starting work at The Christie I have gained my NVQ3, and most recently I have completed a 2-year foundation degree in health and social care. Since finishing the programme I am now an assistant practitioner.
