Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The definition of digital Victorian studies is described in terms of scholarly projects that develop and employ digital methodologies and tools to remediate Victorian artifacts (including, but not only, the literary); the metacritical study of the relationship of the digital revolution to Victorian culture, involving a new focus on Victorian technology and print culture as systems of information, and often connected with media studies; and the employment of new digital approaches to interrogate Victorian texts, often based wholly or partly on quantitative research that responds to Franco Moretti's call for distant reading. The impact of the digital humanities on digital Victorian studies is mapped out, and the current major Victorian digital projects are introduced. In conclusion, there is an outline of the major changes in the conception of the book and of reading in response to advances in digital scholarship.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
