Abstract
En 1765, le Collège académique jésuite de Tyrnau (aujourd’hui Trnava en Slovaquie, en hongrois, Nagyszombat) célébra une fête pour le mariage du futur Joseph II. À cette occasion, la comédie-ballet Le Plaisir de l’Abbé Marchadier (1747) fut retravaillée et mise en scène par le directeur du collège, Matthias Geiger. Le théâtre de Geiger et de ses élèves aristocrates, qui transpose la comédie dans un contexte politique austro-hongrois en gardant la langue originale, balance entre l’espace privé et l’espace public. L’article attire l’attention sur la complexité de la forme théâtrale qui est liée d’une part au mélange des discours exhibé par le texte adapté et, de l’autre, à l’hybridité de l’espace socio-culturel du collège de Tyrnau et du Royaume de Hongrie, état multiethnique et multilingue.
