Abstract
Chronic lung disease of prematurity (CLDP) is the most common comorbidity among former extremely premature infants. CLDP incidence remains high due to neonatal intensive care management improvements with increased survival rates in extremely preterm infants. CLDP can be associated with chronic pulmonary hypertension (cPHT), which is related to immaturity and abnormal pulmonary vascular bed remodeling following birth.1 Infants with CLDP and cPHT have poorer long-term outcomes compared to those without and may require home oxygen therapy (HOT) to prevent hypoxemia.
