Este ensayo se propone mostrar cómo el movimiento feminista chileno ha encarnado las luchas por la vida y por la democracia en dos momentos clave del desarrollo del neoliberalismo en el país: aquel de su imposición a fines de los años setenta en plena dictadura cívico militar y el de su crisis actual, agudizada tras la revuelta popular de octubre de 2019. A partir de la reconstrucción de algunos de sus principales hitos y elaboraciones, nos proponemos relevar el carácter estratégico del feminismo en las luchas antineoliberales y recuperar las claves teórico-políticas que, acumuladas en estos cuarenta años de luchas, ofrecen luces para orientar la crisis general del capitalismo financiarizado hacia salidas que profundicen la determinación popular de la política y la sostenibilidad de la vida.
