Cet article se donne pour objectif d’étudier la représentation de la bouche en tant qu’organe de la parole en français, en aroumain et en macédonien. L’analyse portera sur un corpus d’unités phraséologiques articulées autour du lexème « bouche ». Ces unités phraséologiques, dont les dénominations sont nombreuses, établissent un lien entre la langue et la culture, voire la société en général, car leur caractère idiomatique et le mécanisme qui l’a créé sont propres à la collectivité qui les utilise et qui les transmet aux générations futures. L’analyse sémantique du corpus recueilli, basée sur la méthode sémiologique proposée par Zvonko Nikodinovski (2011), permettra de constater les significations que chacune des langues étudiées attribue à ce référent détenant la place centrale dans le processus d’articulation de la parole. La confrontation interlinguistique de ces significations (mais également des formes qui les véhiculent) jettera de la lumière sur les représentations collectives visant le référent en question dans les trois langues, ainsi que sur les valeurs qui lui sont attribuées.
