Abstract
Nesta seção deste número temático apresentamos um conjunto de documentos importantes para se compreender um pouco dos movimentos deflagrados na virada do século XX/XXI para a promoção de reflexões e ações acerca de princípios que orientassem para uma postura ou atitude transdisciplinar diante da Ciência, da Cultura e da Sociedade Planetária, na para o novo milênio. Naquele momento se fazia necessário tais atitudes, como uma visão do que poderia ser o futuro do planeta no século seguinte. Neste conjunto de textos a seguir apresentamos as declarações ou cartas elaboradas ao final de cada um dos fóruns ocorridos em Veneza (1986), Vancouver (1989), Belém (1992) e de Arrábida/Lisboa (1994)
