Abstract
Les infirmières cliniciennes québécoises sont parmi les premières à avoir acquis le droit de prescrire au Canada. Celles qui œuvrent en santé sexuelle semblent avoir été cantonnées dans une pratique biomédicale hétéronormative. L’objectif de l’étude était de faire ressortir les limites de ce nouveau rôle relativement à la médicalisation et l’homogénéisation de leur pratique jugée hétéronormative. Le cadre théorique et conceptuel de la santé sexuelle repose sur le biopouvoir et l’hétéronormativité. Cette recherche qualitative utilisant une approche en phénoménologie herméneutique a été réalisée à l’aide d’entrevues semi-dirigées auprès de neuf (N=9) infirmières prescriptrices de la région des Laurentides au Québec. Les résultats montrent bien que la quête d’une approche biomédicale pour assurer la pratique s’avère liée à l’expression d’un biopouvoir et que le travail auprès de populations symptomatiques, plus complexe et laissé aux médecins, accentue l’homogénéisation de la patientèle (jeune, blanche, hétérosexuelle) révélant une certaine hétéronormativité de la pratique infirmière.
