Abstract
Since its debut in 1976, the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) has grown into one of the oldest, largest, and most respected animation events in the world. A major part of the success has been the festival's fearless championing of animation's underdogs. Over the years, the OIAF catalogue has served as deep background for the films and filmmakers, offering in-depth texts written by assorted animation aficionados, historians, enthusiasts, curators, and scholars. The Corners are Glowing is our attempt to keep those voices alive and moving forwards so that a new generation of animation fans, critics, historians, and passers-by can discover these rarely seen writings, as they regard them as essential contributions to both the history of and critical discourse about one of cinema's most important and perhaps least understood forms.
