Abstract

 School age is the children in the age range 6-12 years. School age children need adequate food in quantity and quality in order to have a good nutritional status. School age children generally spend a quarter of their time in schools, and with the large number of child activities tend to forget the meal times. Children who are not habitual breakfast at home and parents habits give allowance to children is the factor precipitating the emergence of unhealthy street snack behavior in schools. Children often buy snack and choose the kind of haphazard with the low quality of food service and food ingredients. The result of consuming unhealthy foods will cause diarrhea due to interference on digestive’s children. The goal of this research is to know the relation of consumption street snack behavior with diarrhea in children of school age. This is a quantitative research which is used correlation design. This research was conducted in SD Negeri 141 Pekanbaru with 71 children as respondents. The result of this research obtained that school age who behave street snack is about 53 respondents (74.6%) and 28 respondents (39.4%) get effect of diarrhea. The chi square test results obtained the P Value 0.01, this means that there is a relationship of consumption street snack behavior with diarrhea. It’s expected to school authority to observe and monitor the street snack that commercial at school’s surroundings.
 
 Anak usia sekolah merupakan anak yang berada pada rentang usia 6-12 tahun. Anak usia sekolah membutuhkan makanan yang cukup secara kuantitas dan kualitas agar memiliki status gizi yang baik. Anak usia sekolah umumnya menghabiskan seperempat waktunya disekolah, dengan banyaknya aktivitas anak cenderung melupakan waktu makan. Kebiasaan anak yang tidak sarapan dirumah ditambah dengan kebiasan orang tua memberikan uang jajan kepada anak merupakan faktor pencetus munculnya perilaku jajan tidak sehat disekolah. Anak sering membeli jajan sembarangan dan memilih jenis makanan yang menarik dengan kualitas jajanan yang rendah serta bahan makanan yang kurang baik.Akibat dari mengkomsumsi makanan yang tidak sehat akan menimbulkan gangguan pada pencernaan anak yaitu diare. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan perilaku komsumsi jajanan dengan kejadian diare pada anak usia sekolah. Jenis penelitian ini kuantitatif dengan desain korelasi. Penelitian dilakukan di SD Negeri 141 Pekanbaru dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 71 responden . Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa anak usia sekolah yang berperilaku jajan makanan terbuka 53 responden (74,6%), dan yang mengalami diare sebanyak 28 responden (39,4%). Hasil uji chi square didapatkan nilai P Value 0,01 artinya terdapat hubungan perilaku komsumsi jajanan pada pedagang kaki lima dengan kejadian diare. Diharapkan pihak sekolah untuk mengawasi aneka jajanan yang diperjualbelikan di lingkungan sekolah.
