Abstract
Cet article vise à éclairer un moment récent de l’histoire économique du Québec, soit la mise en place d’une nouvelle économie du début des années 1980 au début des années 2000. Pour ce faire, nous nous intéresserons au parcours de Camille Limoges, un historien des sciences et de la technologie qui a aussi occupé des positions névralgiques dans l’administration publique. Tant par ses écrits que par son implication dans l’administration publique, ce dernier a joué un rôle déterminant à l’égard des politiques québécoises de recherche sur une période de 20 ans. D’abord, nous clarifierons le concept de « nouvelle économie » en nous référant à son contexte original d’émergence aux États-Unis. Ensuite, nous porterons notre attention sur les idées contenues dans un ouvrage cosigné par Limoges, The New Production of Knowledge. Enfin, nous montrerons l’influence des idées contenues dans cet ouvrage en rapport à la mise en place d’une politique d’innovation au Québec.
