Dekade ini, perubahan iklim bukan hanya suatu fenomena alam melainkan sebuah permasalahan sosial yang berdampak sangat luas bagi kehidupan masyarakat. Belum banyak dikaji melalui perpsektif sosial, penelitian ini berusaha mengidentifikasi sebuah fenomena baru dalam pergerakan isu krisis iklim di Indonesia. Menggunakan teori gerakan sosial baru sebagai pisau analisis, penelitian ini mengambil strategi gerakan sebagai fokus utamanya, dengan studi kasus Extinction Rebellion Indonesia (XR). Bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi perjuangan yang digunakan Extinction Rebellion dalam mencapai tujuan-tujuannya, penelitian ini menyimpulkan strategi gerakan sosial baru yang diusung Extinction Rebellion Indonesia berhasil mencapai tujuannya dalam menyadarkan masyarakat akan gentingnya isu iklim melalui metode nir kekerasan dengan penerapan strategi keterlibatan kritis (critical engagement).
