Abstract
This study aims to improve learning activity and student learning outcomes in understanding the content of reading report texts through the Teams Game Tournament (TGT) in class IX J Negeri 3 Adiwerna students in the 2019/2020 school year. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research subjects were students of class IX J SMP Negeri 3 Adiwerna for the academic year 2019/2020, totaling 29 students consisting of 14 boys and 15 girls. Analysis of research data using qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis. Research time for 6 months, namely January to. In June 2020. This activity was carried out in accordance with the 2nd semester program that had been planned by the teacher based on the 2013 curriculum at SMP Negeri 3 Adiwerna. The research was carried out in 2 cycles, with 3 meetings per cycle. Each cycle is carried out in 4 stages, namely; planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. In order to obtain the problem, a re-diagnosis is carried out followed by re-therapy. The results showed that by using the TGT learning model, the learning activities and learning outcomes of students increased. This can be seen from the results of student learning activities in the first cycle reaching 50% to 86.11% in the second cycle. While the learning outcomes of students in the first cycle reached 68.97% learning completeness, increasing to 86.21% in the second cycle. Thus, the researchers concluded that applying the TGT learning model could improve learning activities and learning outcomes in understanding the content of reading report texts for class IX J students of SMP Negeri 3 Adiwerna in the 2019/2020 school year. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas IX J SMP Negeri 3 Adiwerna tahun pelajaran 2019/2020 yang berjumlah 29 peserta didik yang terdiri dari 14 putra dan 15 putri. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan analisis data kualitatif dan analisis data kuantitatif. Waktu penelitian selama 6 bulan yaitu bulan Januari sd. Bulan Juni 2020. Kegiatan ini dilakukan sesuai dengan program semester 2 yang telah direncanakan oleh guru berdasarkan kurikulum 2013 di SMP Negeri 3 Adiwerna. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus, dengan 3 kali pertemuan per siklus. Masing-masing siklus dilaksanakan dengan 4 tahap yaitu; perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Agar diperoleh permasalahan, maka dilakukan diagnosis ulang yang dilanjutkan dengan terapi ulang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran TGT aktfitas belajar dan hasil belajar peserta didik meningkat. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil aktifitas belajar peserta didik pada siklus I mencapai 50% menjadi 86,11% pada siklus II. Sedangkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada siklus I mencapai mencapai ketuntasan belajar 68,97% meningkat menjadi 86,21% pada siklus II. Dengan demikian peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran TGT dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan hasil belajar dalam memahami isi bacaan teks report pada peserta didik kelas IX J SMP Negeri 3 Adiwerna tahun pelajaran 2019/2020.
