Abstract
Dans les albums qu’elle « fabrique », l’auteur et illustratrice Anne Herbauts s’engage au cœur de la matière. Elle investit les espaces vides, les plis et les découpes ainsi que les volumes. Non seulement elle fait dialoguer le texte et l’image à travers des effets de manque ou de débordement mais elle invite le lecteur à compléter les éléments lacunaires. C’est dans cet entre-deux qu’elle conçoit la matérialité de l’objet-livre. Cet article se propose d’analyser à travers trois albums, Lundi, Les moindres petites choses et De quelle couleur est le vent ?, la façon dont Anne Herbauts utilise la matière et la texture comme un vocabulaire.
