Abstract
Las remesas constituyen una de las principales fuentes de ingresos en México y uno de los principales determinantes de la reducción de los niveles de pobreza entre las familias mexicanas. El objetivo de esta investigación es determinar el impacto de las remesas procedentes de Estados Unidos en las Sociedades Cooperativas de Ahorro y Préstamo de México. Para ello, se utiliza la metodología de pruebas de cointegración, con la que se realizaron seis pruebas de cointegración, para establecer si las Sociedades Cooperativas de Ahorro y Préstamo tienen participación en el mercado de las remesas. Los resultados indican que las variables financieras de las Sociedades Cooperativas de Ahorro y Préstamo no están cointegradas con las remesas. Con el análisis de los resultados se concluye que las Sociedades Cooperativas de Ahorro y Préstamo no son impactadas por las remesas y que los programas instrumentados para que este tipo de cooperativas participen en el mercado de las remesas no han tenido éxito.
