Abstract
Le Canada semble relativement épargné par la montée des mouvements populistes anti-immigrants qui se répandent à travers le monde. De nombreuses études soulignent que, dans leur grande majorité, les citoyens canadiens considèrent l’immigration et la diversité ethnoculturelle croissante du pays comme un atout. Pour expliquer cet optimisme, qui contraste avec la situation des autres démocraties occidentales, la littérature universitaire doit davantage tenir compte des spécificités du Canada, comme la structure de son système d’immigration et sa position géographique.
