Abstract
Um dos jogos mais esperados da última geração de consoles foi Death Stranding (2019), sobretudo em função da fama de seu realizador, Hideo Kojima, e das mecânicas de jogo inovadoras que eram demonstradas a partir de press releases e vídeos de divulgação de seus realizadores. Neste artigo, detemo-nos a observar a pervasividade do neoliberalismo em elementos de game design, mecânicas e plot narrativo do jogo em questão, sobretudo preocupados com o motivo da precarização do trabalho. Para tanto, contamos com as teorias do trabalho (ANTUNES, 1999), trabalho de plataforma (SRNICEK, 2017; SLEE, 2017; SUNDARARAJAN, 2016) e do neoliberalismo (DARDOT e LAVAL, 2016; FOUCAULT, 2008, HARVEY, 2008) para embasarmos nossa analítica crítica do jogo com base na observação de sistemas (LUHMANN, 2000).
