Abstract
L’Afrique est sous-représentée sur la Liste du patrimoine mondial de l’Unesco. Les difficultés du patrimoine mondial sur le continent sont le reflet d’un malaise sérieux, en matière de conception des politiques culturelles, d’adéquation des systèmes de gestion, de participation active avérée des communautés locales au processus de patrimonialisation et d’appropriation efficace des perceptions locales du patrimoine. Le présent article, à travers l’exemple du Sénégal et du Mali propose une analyse des défis de représentativité et de gestion du patrimoine mondial en Afrique de l’Ouest dans une perspective d’ancrage local.
