Abstract
Cet article présente une première synthèse en français de l’état des connaissances actuelles sur la propagande musicale franquiste entre 1940 et 1960, publiées majoritairement en espagnol et en anglais. La période choisie permet de s’intéresser à l’évolution qu’a connue la propagande franquiste dans le domaine musical entre le début des années 1940 et la fin des années 1950, passant de la promotion de l’unité nationale, basée sur une identité hispanique profonde, à la projection sur la scène internationale d’une image de paix et de normalité en Espagne. Après un survol des organes politiques chargés d’organiser la propagande sous le régime franquiste, divers cas de figure recensés dans la littérature récente sont discutés en faisant ressortir les caractéristiques communes entre ces manifestations. Cela permet de mettre en lumière trois mécanismes de propagande (la récupération, le détournement et la censure) et de développer une réflexion autour de l’importance d’un rapport de pouvoir dans la mise en place de la propagande.
