Abstract
The literary cycle Soifs, by Quebec writer Marie-Claire Blais, includes a vast fictional population. The aim of this article is to show how the cycle tends to erase the differences between main and secondary characters, through different devices: lists of characters, the image of the chorus and the organisation of many voices and points of view. This literary work, based on ethical and political principles, thus seeks to counter the mechanisms of hierarchization of existences, of silencing and of marginalization that prevail in the social world.
