Negli anni Settanta i caratteri del femminismo italiano variano molto da una città all’altra, poiché rispecchiano le differenze di storia sociale, politica e culturale. All’interno del movimento delle donne sono nati vari gruppi e si parla di “femminismi”. Questi gruppi hanno prodotto testimonianza di sé attraverso pubblicazioni di riviste, a volte numeri unici. Temi comuni: la salute, la conoscenza del proprio corpo, la contraccezione, l’IVG, i consultori, i servizi sociali. Temi che hanno segnato differenze: emancipazione/liberazione, specificità/uguaglianza, salario per il lavoro domestico, lavoro retribuito. In Emilia, terra di emancipazione e lavoro femminile, i Gruppi per il Salario al Lavoro Domestico hanno avuto vita breve e limitata come partecipazione. In altre realtà Padova e Napoli le donne impegnate nella campagna per il salario domestico hanno espresso voci più forti e durature.
