ABSTRAK
 Ruas Jalan Menuju TPA Wlahar Kecamatan Kalibagor Kabupaten Banyumas berulang kali mengalami ambles dan longsor lereng pada beberapa titik. Ambles dan longsor menimbulkan masalah transportasi karena ruas jalan ini akan menjadi jalur utama menuju ke TPA yang sedang di bangun. Ambles dan longsor meliputi hampir seluruh lebar badan jalan dengan panjang longsoran lebih kurang 35meter. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengkaji karakteristik tanah dasar jalan dan stabilitas lereng Ruas Jalan Menuju TPA Wlahar tersebut. Kajian dilakukan untuk menemukan jawaban penyebab terjadinya longsor lereng dan ambles di ruas jalan tersebut. 
 Karakteristik tanah dasar dianalisis dengan pendekatan parameter batas-batas Atterberg. Hasil analisis menunjukkan tanah dasar dibawah timbunan Ruas Jalan tersebut, endapan fluvial yang sangat mudah sekali longsor bila tidak dalam kondisi tertahan. Tanah jenis ini mempunyai karakteristik tanah yang kurang baik, karena sering menimbulkan penurunan yang berlebihan, gerakan dinding penahan tanah, keruntuhan lereng, dan lain-lain. Stabilitas lereng.
 Analisis daya dukung tanah pada Ruas Jalan tersebut menggunakan metode PCI dan perhitungan CBR laboratorium. Adapun data yang diperlukan dalam penelitain adalah data sekunder dan data primer yang didapat dari lokasi jalan tersebut. Dari hasil Analisa, didapatkan hasil sebagai berikut: Berat Jenis Tanah (2,354-2,411)gr/cm3, CBR Laboratorium untuk kepadatan 95% (0,860-3,300)% untuk kepadatan 100% (0,740-2,350)%, Tanah dasar (subbase) ruas jalan tersebut, mempunyai nilai Batas plastis antara 27,579– 0,808 dan indeks plastisitas antara 22,641–31,992. termasuk tanah yang mempunyai sifat plastisitas sedang. Batas Cair antara 53,392-62,800% . Kemudian, nilai batas susu tantara 6,762-41,436%.
