Abstract
En 1982 el país entró en una crisis financiera. La liquidez del sistema presentó una reducción considerable, la tasa de interés se incrementó y los costos de operación de las entidades financieras aumentaron de forma desproporcionada. Mientras tanto, los problemas del sector real se reflejaban en el deterioro de la calidad de la cartera de aquellas entidades que registraban una alta concentración de sus créditos en los sectores industrial y comercial.
