Abstract
Cet article propose une critique politique et écologique du transhumanisme et de l’injonction à augmenter nos performances physiques, intellectuelles et émotionnelles par les avancées technoscientifiques et biomédicales qui gouvernent de plus en plus nos sociétés capitalistes avancées. Non seulement le transhumanisme et cette culture de l’humain augmenté nourrissent un rapport dépolitisé à soi et au monde qui fait le lit d’une appropriation et d’une exploitation capitalistes toujours plus effrénées de nos corps et de nos vies. Mais ils révèlent et encouragent aussi une conception anthropocentrique et prométhéenne de l’émancipation humaine – fondée sur l’idée illusoire et désastreuse de « s’arracher » à la vie et au vivant – au coeur de la dévastation écologique contemporaine que l’on nomme depuis quelques années l’Anthropocène. L’article appelle à refonder notre conception de l’émancipation et du politique sur la base d’une véritable « écologie politique de la vie et du vivant ».
