Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Quantum information protocols often rely on tomographic techniques to\ndetermine the state of the system. A popular method of encoding information is\non the different paths a photon may take, for example, parallel waveguides in\nintegrated optics. However, reconstruction of states encoded onto a large\nnumber of paths is often prohibitively resource intensive and requires\ncomplicated experimental setups. Addressing this, we present a simple method\nfor determining the state of a photon in a superposition of d paths using a\nrotating one-dimensional optical Fourier Transform. We establish the theory and\nexperimentally demonstrate the technique by measuring a wide variety of\nsix-dimensional density matrices. The average fidelity of these with the\nexpected state is as high as 0.9852 +/- 0.0008. This performance is comparable\nor exceeds established tomographic methods for other types of systems.\n

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
