Fragments sur Aby Warburg rassemblent pour la première fois les textes ayant trait au projet de biographie intellectuelle d'Aby Warburg dans leurs langues originales, l’allemand et l’anglais entre lesquelles oscille l’écriture de Gertrud Bing. Présentés chronologiquement et documentés, ils retracent cette histoire méconnue et sont autant de traces et de fragments d’une oeuvre à venir dont on perçoit les contours et la teneur. Mis bout à bout, ils dessinent un portrait dont la profondeur, la singularité et l’intelligence ne peuvent s’expliquer que par la longue intimité intellectuelle qui a lié Gertrud Bing à celui qui a fini par devenir son objet d’étude : Aby Warburg.
