Les enjeux de pression et de performance liés à la gestion axée sur les résultats (GAR) teintent le quotidien des directions d’école (DÉ) et la manière dont les chercheur.euse.s peuvent accéder à leur expérience. Cet article explore les valeurs et les intentions qui façonnent les stratégies déployées par des DÉ québécoises du primaire avec un modèle de leadership pédagogique (Hallinger et Wang, 2015) combiné à la démarche d’analyse réflexive de Bourassa et al. (1999). Les propos de 18 DÉ ainsi que deux directions accompagnatrices d’un même centre de services scolaire interviewées montrent deux pratiques de gestion émergentes, la gestion politique et la gestion des ressources, estimées essentielles pour influencer la réussite des élèves dans le contexte de la GAR. Les résultats permettent aussi de témoigner du développement d’une réflexion stratégique grâce à l’accompagnement offert, qui semble leur permettre de s’adapter et de répondre aux enjeux de pression et de performance.
