L’article propose une nouvelle approche d’aide aux décisions de renouvellement des conduites d’eau potable. Comme les indicateurs traditionnels présentent des lacunes pour évaluer avec fiabilité le risque de bris futurs, une procédure dynamique d’établissement des durées de vie des conduites et l’utilisation de l’impact spatio-temporel des bris précédents sur les dégradations futures sont proposées. Les données récoltées pour 6000 kilomètres de conduites, révèlent une bonne corrélation spatiale et temporelle entre les bris successifs sur une conduite. Ainsi, 83% des bris sur une conduite en fonte grise surviennent dans les dix années suivant un bris antérieur et 60% à moins de 20 mètres d’un bris antérieur. Le risque de bris augmente avec le nombre de bris antérieurs et diminue avec l’âge du dernier bris. La méthode dynamique proposée pour établir les durées de vie réelles des conduites étudiées a révélé de bons écarts avec les valeurs théoriques énoncées dans la littérature.
