Abstract
According to a study by RAND researchers published in JAMA Network Open July 26, the methadone supply was down during COVID‐19, while the buprenorphine supply was not. The article found that the per capita supply declined in the second quarter of 2020 and had not returned to 2019 levels by June 2021, while the per capita supply of buprenorphine increased. Researchers referred to this supply issue as another barrier to treatment for opioid use disorder (OUD).
