Abstract
En la especie Ipomoea carnea se han identificado siete alcaloides, entre los cuales se encuentra, la swainsonina y las calisteginas B1, B2, B3 y C1, como los responsables de la intoxicación en el ganado, comprobado por medio de tejidos hepáticos, pancreáticos, renales y neuronales.
