Abstract
Cet article analyse les stratégies visant à innocenter le colon (settler moves to innocence) déployées pour extraire le personnage principal du roman Taqawan d’Éric Plamondon, un Québécois blanc, du système colonial montré comme brutal et injuste. En s’appuyant sur l’article « Decolonization is Not a Metaphor » de Tuck et Yang, l’autrice critique la représentation du protagoniste en tant qu’homme droit et allié envers les personnes et les causes autochtones, qui a pour but de le dédouaner des ravages du colonialisme de peuplement.
